Roland K. Yeo

Dr. Roland K. Yeo received his PhD in Human Resource Management from the Leeds Business School at the Leeds Metropolitan University in UK and a DBA in Organizational Behavior from the University of South Australia where he also obtained an MA (Dean’s List) in Communication Management. Before that, he completed a BA in English Language and Literature ar the National University of Singapore. He also taught at Temasek Polytechnic in Singapore, the then Asian academic partner to the University of New South Wales, Australia.

Dr. Yeo’s research interests center around the individual and social aspects of learning in organizational contexts. He is particularly fascinated by the dynamics of group interaction as determining the way in which individuals respond to tasks and shared objectives through negotiating their level of intentionality and actual performance. Issues related to learning strategy, emotional intelligence, role conflict, performance ambiguity, knowledge sharing and change process are part of his research repertoire. Methodologically, he is a qualitative researcher with an interpretivist orientation. He is equally interested in case study research which often provides interesting contexts and paradigms to understand a phenomenon at an in-depth level through interviewing, focus groups, unobtrusive observation and secondary data.

Dr. Yeo currently serves on the Board of the Arabian Society for Human Resource Management (ASHRM) as Education and Certification Director, responsible for providing professional educational programs in Human Resource Management and Human Resource Development in Saudi Arabia and the region. On the academic front, he is actively involved in paper reviewing being an editorial advisory board member of a number of international refereed journals including Human Resource Development International, Journal of European Industrial Training, European Business Review, Journal of Workplace Learning, and Journal of International Business & Entrepreneurship Development.
