Dr Hernan Riquelme
Profile
Dr Riquelme obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Manchester, Manchester Business School in the UK, a MBA from Texas Tech University in the USA, and a Bachelor in Inter-American Studies and Linguistics from the University of the Pacific in California, USA.
He has taught for more than 20 years at university level in several countries and also taught in-house programs in the marketing and strategy areas. He has conducted research and consultancies for several companies in Australia, Bolivia, Chile, and Africa among others.
Some of the research conducted by Dr Riquelme has appeared in the Journal of Consumer Marketing, Journal of Creativity and Innovation Management, Electronic Markets, Internet Research: Electronic Networking Applications and Policy, Journal of e-Business, Journal of Entrepreneurship, Journal of Business Venturing, among others. He has authored, co-authored, and edited three books: Kase, K., Saez, F., and Riquelme, H. (2005) Transformational CEOs: Leadership and Management Success in Japan. Edward Elgar Publishing Ltd. Before residing in Kuwait, Dr Riquelme worked for a University in Australia, a development bank in the Netherlands (in a capacity as Regional Manager for Latin America) and also worked in a venture capital investment Fund in Manchester, England.
He has performed several academic administrative positions such as Head of Business Graduate Schools in Chile and Bolivia. Both Schools originally founded by the German and American governments respectively. More recently he has been Acting Head of School of Management in RMIT University and was program coordinator of the International Business degree.
Dr Riquelme has been a visiting professor during 2002 at the Graduate School of Management (Maestrias para el Desarrollo ) in Bolivia. The School was founded by USAid and implemented by the Harvard Institute of International Development, Harvard University.
His research interests are in marketing, strategy, and electronic commerce.
