Ameen Talib, PhD


Short Profile

A third generation Arab Singaporean born in Yemen. Ameen grew up between Aden (Yemen), Singapore and Cairo (Egypt). He is a bi-lingual native speaking Arab and obtained his degree in B.Com (Accounting) from Ain Shams University, Cairo in 1983. He obtained his MSc (Accounting & Finance) from London School Economics, England in 1985 and his Doctorate from Warwick Business School, Warwick University, in 2003. He is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) having practiced in UK and Singapore with KPMG Peat Marwick and Ernst & Young. He was an Assistant Professor with NUS Business School, National University of Singapore (NUS) from 1991 to July 2003. He left NUS to focus on his consulting business. He is currently also an adjunct faculty with Maastricht School of Management. Dr. Ameen has worked in the United Kingdom, Dubai and Singapore. His vast travels gave him tremendous international exposure and especially a vast knowledge of Middle East and Middle Eastern culture. Ameen published extensively in academic and professional journals. He presented many papers at various conferences and has been invited to give numerous talks. He is currently an advisor to Singapore Business Federation Middle East Group and a director of the Middle East Institute, National University of Singapore.
