Abdullatif Al Rashdan

Abdullatif Al Rashdan joined the MBA programme at KMBS in March 2008. Since July 2008 he has worked as a Investment Officer in Abyaar Real Estate Development Company.

Prior to his current position with Abyaar, he worked as a Corporate Finance Officer in Gulf Holding Company (GHC- Bahrain Office) and was relocated to Kuwait. Abdullatif was assigned by Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA) to complete an internship to the French AXA Investment Managers in 2007; he received training in the company headquarters in Paris and their office in London -UK.

Abdullatif says he chose KMBS because of its excellent reputation in Kuwait as the first private university to offer an MBA degree. He says “KMBS is doing an extremely good job and has benefited from 5 years of experience in offering the MBA programme. It provides excellent choices to those who are working professionally in the private sector, and who wish to balance their education with their experience.”

When asked what he likes most about KMBS, Abdullatif says: “I love the atmosphere, friends, professors and lecturing rooms; it’s a great environment in which to learn. I like the idea of studying to gain an internationally accredited MBA degree whilst maintaining work in my country.” Apart from MBA studies Abdullatif enjoys information technology and the internet, sports such as aerobics, swimming & body building and he also enjoys traveling.

 

Ahmad Al-Sharhan

Ahmed is IT Manager at Triple E Company, which is an independent engineering and energy group established and based in Kuwait operating in the oil & gas field. Triple E has established 4 subsidiaries focusing their operation in the following areas: oil & gas exploration, drilling and procurement & construction services. Ahmed’s role is to manage the IT operations and land communication services at Triple E Company and its subsidiaries

Ahmed joined the MBA programme at KMBS in March 2006.

When asked why he chose KMBS he explained: “The main reason for choosing KMBS is the local and international accreditations that have been awarded to KMBS. Another reason is also the level and diversity of its faculty members; most of the faculty members are, or have worked as consultants in their respective fields.”

Ahmed says what he most likes about KMBS is the friendly environment, small number of students, and its international accreditation as well as the curriculum in which the latest topics are discussed. His interests, apart from studying, are reading, researching and diving.

 

Dalal A. Al-Asousi

Dalal joined the MBA program in 2007. She has an engineering background, and currently holds the position of Purchasing & Logistics Manager at Kazema Global Holding Co. where her specialty is in purchasing, procurement, material control, logistics and warehousing. Her responsibilities include seeking reliable vendors/ suppliers to provide quality goods at reasonable prices, contracts, reviewing technical specifications for raw materials, components and equipments, and determining quality and timing of deliveries.

When asked why she applied to join KMBS, Dalal says:“Because of its learning time flexibility, the mechanism of study, its excellent reputation world wide and strong syllabus, KMBS is the best choice”.

When asked what she likes most at KMBS, Dalal says: : “KMBS is different from any other College. It has a friendly learning atmosphere, a sound academic structure and a relaxed social atmosphere”.

 

Hamad Fahad Al Sabah

Hamad is an MBA student at KMBS and is Chief of the Information and Data Base Section in the Ministry of Defense. He is following the plan of the ministry to achieve its mission, and this involves analyzing work processes & departmental problem-solving. Hamad chose KMBS as it enabled him to study for an MBA without causing any disruption to his career or to his domestic life.

Hamad likes the efficient communication with students that exists at KMBS. His interests are reading, swimming, golf and painting.

 

Manal A. Al-Asousi

Manal joined the MBA program in 2007. She is Operation & Projects Development Manager at Kazema Global Holding Co., where she is responsible for improving the operational system process and policies in support of the mission of the organization. Specifically, she supports management reporting, information and work flow, managing business processes and organizational planning. In addition, she is responsible for developing project plans with a team and manages the team’s performance of project tasks, including the triple constraints for projects, which are cost, time and scope.

Manal says she chose to join the MBA programme at KMBS because “It is a small campus with a friendly atmosphere and a good reputation that made it the best choice for me when deciding where to pursue my MBA. It offers the desired quality education, and gives personal, positive experiences through its faculty, staff members and students.

Being at KMBS is a great experience, meeting interesting people, informative studies, and a nice place to study. I had an awesome time in KMBS, and I have no regrets that I chose it.” Her interests are reading personal development books, walking and solving puzzles.

 

Marwa Kamal El-Din

Marwa holds the post of Senior Relationship Manager-Private Banking & Wealth Management –BKME; she joined the MBA programme in September 2007.

When asked why she chose KMBS, Marwa says: “I chose KMBS because it was the ideal choice for me, a part- time programme that utilizes international teaching methods & standards, that did not require me having to travel or leave my job. I like the structure of the programme; it helps me organize my time effectively”.

Marwa loves to travel & experience other cultures.

 

Nadia Al-Sharhan

Nadia is an International Real Estate Analyst, and joined the MBA program in September 2007.

When asked why she joined KMBS Nadia says: “I preferred an internationally recognized programme catering for an international audience with a curriculum assigned by an international university. Maastricht School of Management has a strong reputation of academic excellence, as well as a superior MBA programme including a thesis requirement. This is unique to the MBA programs offered in Kuwait, where I consider KMBS MBA programme to be tougher than the alternative here in Kuwait.”

Nadia says what she likes most at KMBS is: “The friendly and open environment in which students and professors interact with each other with ease and respect. Moreover, students have access to a vast data base link with the parent university, offering superior access to information and publications to ensure first-class research materials for students.”

 
 

Othman Dawood Al-Qenaei
 
Othman is a Bank Manager at CBK (Commercial Bank of Kuwait) and joined the MBA programme in September 2007.
 
He says he chose KMBS for its flexible programme of study, and for its renowned reputation.
 
When asked what he likes most about KMBS he says “The atmosphere!!” Othman is interested in politics, reading and music.

 

Qutaiba M. Okasha
 
Qutaiba is currently the Strategic Planning Manager at Kuwait Hotels Company (KHC) and Vice Chairman of Safir Support Service Company (SSSC), and joined the MBA programme at KMBS in September 2007.
 
Quatiba says “When I first considered taking an MBA, I wanted a Business School that provided an environment of mixed cultures of knowledge and experience from lecturers and students. I visited KMBS and viewed its MBA programme. The programme fulfills my needs for working as a professional, by building a network of contacts with other experienced students, thus helping me to plan my future which may involve running my own business. That is why I chose KMBS.”
 
When asked what he most likes about KMBS, Qutaiba says “The class timings are convenient for me. I also appreciate the highly professional lectures and the latest curriculum on business methodologies and techniques.”
 
His interests are diving, reading, traveling, collecting old Kuwaiti stamps and watching sci-fi series.

 

Sandra Ibrahim Shehadeh
 
Sandra joined the MBA program in September 2007; she is a Management Consultant and Human Resource Advisor to the Group Companies’ (GCs) HR department. Her duties include: full-spectrum analysis to enhance HR management practice regarding recruitment, hiring, compensation, retention and training operations. Development of a HR strategic plan to better position the Group as a Premier employer in the GCC. Advising GC’s HR departments on salary and grading structures, job descriptions and performance appraisal systems. Conducting internal reviews and developing recommendations to further enhance policies, procedures and recommend implementation and integration strategies. Assessing career and succession plans and making recommendations for improvement.
 
One reason Sandra chose to study at KMBS is because Maastricht School of Management has a very good reputation world wide.
 
Sandra says: “The things that I like the most about KMBS is the diverse mix of students which adds an interesting dimension to attending KMBS- students are from many different nationalities, academic backgrounds, occupations and age groups.
 
When not studying for her MBA, Sandra says: “My other interests are traveling as I enjoy visiting new places and learning about new cultures. I also enjoy reading; I carry a book with me everywhere I go, just in case I get time to read!!”

 

Viktoria Marafi
 
Viktoria has a law degree in Russian criminal law and previously worked in a law firm in Russia. She studied also in the United States where she worked as a researcher for the Center for the Non-proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction. Since coming to Kuwait, her career took a different path, and she works as a Project Manger in charge of purchasing, market studies and customer relations in a local retail company.
 
Viktoria joined the MBA program at KMBS in September 2006 and says she chose KMBS due to the comprehensive programme, accreditation, and local branch of a reputable European business school.
 
She likes the sociable atmosphere at KMBS and the distinguished professors. Apart from her MBA studies, Viktoria is interested in politics & ethics/human rights issues.

 

Eman Abbas
 
Eman joined the MBA programme at KMBS in September 2006. She is a business woman and has her own business in the health and spa industry - Beauty and Spa Centre. She is partner and Chief Executive Officer of the business. She takes care of all aspect of the business, including but not limited to: planning, day to day management, training, marketing and customer services. She also provides technical support for life-style consultation to individuals and groups. She is also a frequent speaker of entrepreneurship and small business evaluation and planning. She is preparing to establish a consulting firm with professional partners and some of her MBA colleagues.
 
Asked why she chose to enroll on the MBA programme. Eman says:“As my background is computer programming, and since I have always wanted to start my own business, and run it very professionally, I felt it was necessary to undertake an MBA programme. To minimize disruption to my business I wanted to study in Kuwait. I searched for a reputable Business School and KMBS was my first choice, because of the curriculum and the quality of faculty. In addition, reviewing the class timings, I found KMBS was the most suitable and flexible for me, enabling me to balance domestic and professional commitments with the MBA requirments".
 
When asked what she likes most about KMBS, Eman says: “The flexible timing. In addition, after going through the first year I found that the quality of students is of a high standard with a variety of work experiences which add value to the discussions that take place in the class room. The staff members are very professional and friendly and very cooperative. The curriculum also is relevant for my professional needs".

Eman’s interests include reading, chess and charitable works.
